How to Configure Image Gallery

About the Image Gallery Widget

Display multiple images on your community homepage or a group page without excessive scrolling or pagination. This visual display allows for full use of the page and then links out to comments and additional information. It also includes a companion widget that enables you to upload multiple images at one time with a checkbox feature that saves you from having to upload each of your images individually.

Setup and Configuration

Add the Widget

The Media Gallery (Image Gallery) Widget requires one place in Verint to set up:

Add a new widget to the page 

  • Navigate to the group, space or project

  • Click on the pencil icon ()> Manage group theme > edit this page 

  • Search for the Media Gallery - File List by SE Widget 

  • Hold down the mouse on the widget name and drag it out onto the page where you want to display it 

 

Configuring the Widget (Generating a New Image Gallery)


Now that you are in the configuration panel of the Media Gallery (Image Gallery) Widget you need to navigate to the configuration of the widget. To do so navigate to the widget you want (edit the page) and click on the cog in the corner of the widget. 

NOTE: While configuring the widget, DO NOT click off the white popup box or you will lose your configurations and will need to click the gear to edit and start again.

 

 

Widget Fields

There are three different fields within the widget configuration that should be completed. 

  • Sort by

    • You have the choice to sort the posts by the date or time posted, the author, or the rating 

      • Date/ Time Posted - Displays the newest → oldest 

      • Author - Displays posts with authors a→ z

      • Rating - Displays the highest rating posts → lowest rating 

    • To access these options click on the drop down menu under sort by and select whatever you would like the image gallery to be sorted by 

  • Select the specific media gallery or a group to pull the content from 

    • Users can pull content from a specific media gallery to display or users can pull media from a certain group 

    • To find content: 

      • Select whether you want to pull content from a specific media gallery or from a specific group 

      • Search for an the media gallery/ group you are looking to pull media from

      • Select the media gallery/ group you want 

  • Number of files to display 

    • Choose the number of files (images) you would like to display within the image gallery 

Next, click save 



How to Configure Post an Update to Add to your Image Gallery



We recommend that you have a “post an update” button to make it easier for users to quickly upload images with easy navigation. 

  1. Add the Share a Story Widget

The share a story widget by Social Edge requires one place in Verint to set up:

Add a new widget to the page 

  • Navigate to the group, space or project

  • Click on the pencil icon ()> Manage group theme > edit this page 

  • Search for the Share your Story by SE Widget 

  • Hold down the mouse on the widget name and drag it out onto the page where you want to display it 

 Once the widget is added to the page - please ensure your URL of the gallery upload page and the URL in the Content file of the Share Your Story by SE widget are the same (/m/photos/upload)

 

**This widget has no configuration that has to be done following this step. 

 

Publish the Page

  1. Click the Publish Button in the Management Console Panel to publish your changes

  2. Click the X in the Management Console Panel, to close the Panel

  3. Your page will appear published with your updates
