About the Verint Featured Video Widget

 

Looking for an easy way to display a featured video on pages within your community? How about highlighting a video inline? With the verint featured video widget you can easily do all of the above! Easily configurable and great for any page where a community manager may want to display a highlighted or featured video.

Setup and Configuration

  1. Add the Verint Featured Video Widget by Social Edge

Add a new widget to the page 

 

  • Navigate to your communities home page OR a group, space or project

  • Click on the pencil icon ()> Manage group (site) theme > edit this page 

  • Search for the Featured Video Social Edge   

  • Hold down the mouse on the widget name and drag it out onto the page where you would like it to sit

Before You Start 

 

Now that you are in the configuration panel of the the page, you need to navigate to the configuration of the widget. To do so navigate to the widget you want (edit the page) and click on the cog in the corner of the widget.

    1. Widget TItle - The widget will display the title of your video that you choose to display - but this field is if you would like to have a widget title that is in addition and picks up the widget title theming of your site.

    2. Group - Select a group where you would like to pull a video from - either select current group or any other group within your site. Whatever group you select, it will pull the latest video - so if there is more than one media gallery application with videos in a group - it will pull the latest video out of all of those galleries. 

    3. Show Video Metadata - If  you would like to have metadata display above the video and show the author, group, gallery, and creation date - please enable this. 

    4. Auto Resize For Column Width - Please enable if you are using in a narrow column and you would like the video to auto resize within the available column width.

     

Publish the Page

  1. Navigate to the widget configuration

  2. Press save 

  1. Navigate back to the side menu (where the pencil icon is) and click Publish
