How to Configure the GitHub Embeddable

About the GitHub Embeddable

 

Embed a snippet of GitHub code into content as well as the generic content widget anywhere within the Verint community. This embeddable also offers the capability to control who is able to embed code as well as where it can be embedded.

  1. Easily display a snippet of GitHub code in content as well as within a rich text editor across your community 

  2. Control where and who can embed a snippet of code

 

 

 

Embed in Content

Insert Into Content

Navigate and create a new piece of content within your community

Enter a subject for your piece of content

Enter a body for your content within the description field

Click on Insert and Select GitHub

Insert the gist ID of code you would like to display as well as a height for the gist and press ok

To get the gist ID, navigate to your GitHub code and select the last part of the URL, and copy it

Once you are done editing your content click post

 

Embed in Generic Content Widget

Insert into Generic Content Widget

Navigate to the page where you would like to add a generic content widget. 

Hover over the pencil icon 

Click on manage group theme

Click edit this page

Search for and select generic content widget

Drag the widget where you would like on the page. 

Click on the configuration icon

Click on Insert and Select GitHub

Insert the gist ID of code you would like to display as well as a height for the gist and press ok

To get the gist ID, navigate to your GitHub code and select the last part of the URL, and copy it

 

Publish Page

Within the widget configuration, press save  

 Navigate back to the side menu (where the pencil icon is) and click Publish
