How to Configure Profile Insights Widget

Are you looking for an easy way to display certain profile fields to specific community members? For instance, if you need particular staff members to be able to access all profile information for a particular user without jeopardizing personal information, this is the widget for you.

The Profile Insights widget will display any profile fields necessary for site roles. This widget includes one-time customization setup service and lifetime support.

Add the Profile Insights Widget to a Site, Group or Application Page

  1. Navigate to the profile page where you want the Profile Insights Widget to appear.

  2. Select the Pencil icon at the top left.

  3. Select Manage Group Theme.

  4. Select Edit this Page

  5. From the Widgets menu, search for the Profile Insights widget and add it to the page by dragging and dropping the widget onto the page.

 


Configure the Profile Insights Widget

While configuring the widget, DO NOT click off the white popup box or you will lose your configurations and will need to click the gear to edit and start again.

  1. Select the Gear in the right corner on the widget bar of the widget to edit the widget

  2. Select View this will either be for profile field groupings, or single profile fields

  3. Select Profile Field Groups or Profile Fields individually (the image below is displaying profile field groupings. This list changes by the View you selected above

  4. Show Profile Information For this should stay “Contextual User” as you want to view the information for the user you are viewing

  5. Select the Checkboxes for who should view this section of profile fields. (NOTE: You can add this widget many times to the page and change the selection of who should see which fields).

  6. Specific roles type the Site roles on who should see this section of profile fields.

    1. If you make this selection - the user will see a message indicating what roles the profile fields are shown to (see image below)

    2. NOTE: In version 13 - you can create and mark site roles as private. If a role is marked as private - it will not show in the list. 

    3. If all roles are marked as private - the message that will be displayed is: “These profile fields are only visible to you and relevant administrators.”

  7. Read Only this checkbox will put this section in read mode only and will not allow the users to edit the profile fields. (NOTE: do this when you have fields that are syncing with SSO)

     

 


Publish the Page

  1. Click the Publish Button in the Management Console Panel to publish your changes

  2. Click the X in the Management Console Panel, to close the Panel

  3. Your page will appear published with your updates
